Sean Taylor’s Death Random . . . Hmm

30 11 2007

Who seriously thinks Sean Taylors death was a random act of violence?  I was almost dumb founded that the police would release statement saying they think it was a random act of violence.  The guy has a shady past with run-ins with the law, he played for “The U”, and 8 days earlier someone try to force entry threw a window into the same house Taylor ended up being shot in killed in.  Oh and don’t forget the house in a suburb of Miami the place he played and lived in college.  What neighborhoods swanky enough to have NFL players taking up residence in them also have issues with random acts of violence?  I haven’t seen the neighborhood but I’m guessing it’s gated and unless he’s living next to Tony Montana I doubt the people had no idea who he was and just entered the home to rob someone.  I had a co-worker also mention that they read someone cut the phone lines to the house before they entered can anyone confirm this I haven’t seen it printed?  If so that’s another reason that someone had it out for Taylor.  Don’t get me wrong I’m not loosing sight of the fact that a mother and fiancé has lost a husband and a small child a father it’s horribly tragic.  I just think too many things are around this to this quickly say it was random, just my thoughts.

Kentucky’s Football Season Memorable but Short of Great

Kentucky 68, Gardner Webb 84 Someone Push the Panic Button

12 11 2007

Okay so the Cats lost to Gardner Webb, well I say no big deal.  This Kentucky team is still trying to learn Billy Gillispie’s system so even with a stacked team there will be bumps in the road for the first season.  This Wildcat team is by no means stacked they have talent but are a far cry from the product put on the court in the mid to late 90’s.  Basketball is definitely a sport where you lose the more you have to think hence why so many poorly educated high school level kids become millionaires.  So this Kentucky team needs more time as in practice to get to the point in Gillispie’s new system where they don’t think they react.  I think with the two week window until the next game they will get a healthy dose of this.  Once they are reacting and not thinking the fun should start for the Big Blue Nation.
